♦ SOMETHING ABOUT NEW ZEALANDERS. (FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.^ LONDON, November 20. Captain Frank A. Taylor, M.A. (Auckland University College, late 2ud A.1.R.), holder of a N.Z.E.F. Scholarship, is reading far tho Modern Language Honours School at Exeter College, Oxfoi'J, and be will probably bo taking final school next June;, After that Captain Taylor hot** to do some work on tho Continent, cither in Paris or at ono of the Italian universities. It is unfortunate that owing to "eouvenirs'' of the war ho is not able to tako part in any of the Collogo panics. Mr Hubert Henderson d'almcrston North), who bad a commission in the 2nd C.1.K., and who is a N.Z.E.F. echolarahip holder, is at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, studying for tho Natural Science Tripos. Ho will probably bo ut tho university for iibout tiirr© years. At present lie is debarred from tak'.ng any part in 6port, owing to a wound which ho reoeived in th? chesd, but he hopes to bo ablo to tako part in miid summer games. A young New Zealander at King's College, CambrrJgo, is Mr J. E. Davidson (Dunedin), who is Etudying medicine. Itugby football is bis spceial relaxation. Mr F. W. L,un?, who had a commission in the A.1.K., and won a N.Z.E.F. Scholarship which took hfm to Edinburgh University, liopca to take his full medical coutbo there, in which case he will probably l>c in tho United Kingdom for fully four and a half yearn. He is a rather keen lawn tennis player in the summer, and u hoping to get a good deal of po'f as well. Mr Donald JI. L. Gollan (son of Mr Spenoor S. Gollan, of Napier), is in the "A" crow, in tho First Trinity Boat in tho Cambridge Trial Fisht*. i" the semifinal of tho Oolquhoun Sculls, Mr Gollan had a runaway win against 1. \V. Standrins (Pembroke). Ho had j.a<wed i* pood rtylo through all the various heats, and interest is keen regarding the final contest. Major Leigh N. Younghusband, who served with tho R.F.A. throughout the war, aril gained the M.C., lias resumed his studies at I Pembroke Coll'-pe. Cambridge. Ho has just j obtained his B.A. degree.
Mr G. A. Elkington, Trinity Hall, Cambridge, was in the winning boat which met Caius College in the Cox-.vainless Fours at the University. It wo» a good race throughout, and, but for Caiuo catching a crab on entering Lckig Reach, they should have won.
Mr W. M. Jone*, a New Zealand Rhodes Scholar, who is now at Baliiol, was one of a successful hockev team, the lsis, which defeated Christ Church by cigh: goals to three, after a capiul frame. The winners were clever in every department, and deadly shooting by Jones enabifJ them at the interval to lead by four goals to northing. Mr W. L. M. De?rsley. an old boy of Christ's College, is studying for » Natural Science Tripss at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, specialising in agricultural subject* Mr Dearsley is hoping to get through in two yours, although it is v.sually a threeyear course. Next term he hopes to talc* part ia th- College game*.
