CASUALTIES.
Harry Parris, single, 4-1 yoars of ag«, was found dead in bed yesterday morniiig( in u> hut owned by tho railway fire' brigade, and Bituatod in tho Christchurch "railway yards, llenry Joseph Fox, who lived in the samo hut, spoko to tho deceased at a.m., and, getting no reply, discovered that death had occurred. At an inquest, hold at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr S. E. McCarthy, Coroner, a verdict was returned in accordance with tho medical testimony that tho causo of death was heart failure, duo to chronic nephritis. , John Stewart, a retired farmer, ot Sheffield, who was staying at tho Shades Hotel, Christchureh. died suddenly at about 0 a.m. yesterday. Tho deceased, who was 53 years of ago, was a Einglo man, who until recently had been farming at Sheffield in partnership with his brother, Mr Ebencr.er Stewart. An inquest was held at tho Magistrate s Court yesterday, before Mr S. E. M°Carthy* Coroner, who, after hearing medical evidence, returned a verdict that the deceased died from heart failure, duo to degeneration of the heart muscles. (press association telegrams.) AUCKLAND, January 6. A serious accident occurred to-night nt Alexandra Park, when a motor-cycle, ridden by William Charles Macklow collided with a motor-cycle ridden bv Selwvn Craig. Both rvclists were thrown heavily, and Mack low, who was 25 years of ago, was taken to the hospital. Buffering from a serious internal injury, from which ho died shortly after admission. Craig suffered a broken arm. Both men were practising for tin* motor-cyclo sport*.
