The monthly meeting of tho Waimakariri Harbour Board was held last night. Present—Messrs W. Doubleday (chairman), J. W right, K. Macintosh, H. C. Revoll, L. Edmonds, R. Dunn, R. J. Corbett. and L. The Harbourmaster reported that the average depth of water on the bar was 7ft Gin. A survey of the river outlet had been made. He recommended that provision be made for berthing motor launches handy to the landing stage, for which a small rental could t>e charged. The report was adopted, the question of the mooring of launches being referred to the Works Committee. A petition was received containing tho signatures of 120 residents, asking tho Board to rGconaider its decision re-* garding mooring launches at the landing stago. It was decided that the petitioners be informed that the regulations governing the mooring of launches are fixed by the by-laws and must bo observed. ... , It was decided to take legal proceedings against unlicensed launch owners plying for hire.
