RANGIORA HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Rangiora Higfc School Board was hold last evening M r ft. Bell presiding. Mr A. J, Assistant master, was granted, ono month's Jeavo of «b£enoo on account of illness. d'ho principal reported that the school opened on February 10th with a roll number of Hi. Owing to the large increases of echo lure ho requested tho Board to consider tho appointment of an additional assistant master, stating that ono was urgently needed.. iie further stated that the accommodation at tho girls' hostel had reached its limit, and aa an increas© was cxpect-ed during tho winter months it was necessary to make arrangements for it. Ho brought under tho notice of tho Board a suggestion that a home nursing class should be established.
It wae decided to advertise for an. astiitant master, and tbo matter of engaging a. teacher for the liomo nursing class was left in tho hands of tho principal to make enquiries.
It wag decided to point out to the Department the. necessity of increasing the accommodation at the girls' hostel, and that the chairman make immediate application for a grant towards enlarging the hostel. Tho principal expressed regret that tho farmers did not take more advantage of the farm experimental work, and the Board decided to organise a visitors' day as soon as poe&ible. It was stated that tho examination for proficiency certificates was held last week, six , pupils gaining their certificates.
