AUCKLAND'S SCHEME OF

ASSISTANCE

(FBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)

AUCKLAND, February 18

The executive of the Patriotic Association decided to-day to secure an area of land near the city for subdivision into small sections for returned soldiers partially or totally permanently disabled. The proposal is to erect cottages on the sections and provide means 6f earning a livelihood, such as beekeeping, poultry raising, etc. It is estimated that £100,000 will be required for the scheme. The Claim Boards of the Association will investigate the best method of carrying out the scheme. The Association's future activities will also include provision for tho relief of dependants of deceased soldiers.
