DRIVERS' DISPUTE.
FULL SETTLEMENT IN SIGHT. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TBLEUKAV.) AUCKLAND, February 18. Tho Dominion drivers' dispute was further considered by tho Conciliation Council in committee to-day, an agreement was reached in to einpioyinont of casual workoiii and youtAs, wages of motor drivers, and overtime Kates. The Council then adjourned. Tho Commissioner confidently cxpecta that a full sottlement will be reached to-morrow. Tho parties in the Auckland drivers' dispute agreed to a weekly payment of £3 Gs for one-horse drivers, and £3 IBi for two-horse drivers, with stable time oi four hours and eight hours respectively- at Is 4sd per hour. Tho Canterbury Drivers' Employers' Union on Monday filed with the Clerk of Awards iu Christchurch a statement of claim i against the Drivers' Union, based on tho awnrd now in foreo. It providod that drivers with ono horse should receivc £2 12s a week, and drivers with two or more horses £2 16s; casual men with ono horse Is 3d an hour, casual men with two or more horses Is <Hd; overtitnols 7Jd respectively. In view of tho agreement, tho Canterbury employers will cancel that'claim and will make a fresh claim, identical with tho aereoment. This will coTtvt automatically before the Coneiliati&Vl Counril , in Christchureh, and will sent by it to the Arbitration Court, which will convert it into an award. Tim same coursn will be followed >n all the other conciliation district-. When tho award is actually made by the Court, an official cony will be c cnt to cach Clerk of Awards.
