The Press Bureau states that Mr Winston Churchill announces that the Air Force on December 11th numbered) 30,000 officers and 265,000 men, of whom 1742 officers and 51,727 men have been demobilised. It is intended to retain during the current year 6500 officers and 75,000 men pending an announcement regarding the strength of the force and vh© terms of service m the post-war Air Force. Weekly bonuses costing £3,000,000 annually ■will be granted. BERLIN'S ESCAPE. NEW YORK, January 29. Colonel Bishop, V.C., the leading Canadian ace, in the course of a lectirre, stated that it the war had lasted three days longer, twelve super-planes which had been built, would have bombed! Berlin. WORK IN "NEW ZEALAND. LONDON, January 29. Colonel Beddington who has been chosen to visit New Zealand to report on aviation work, consulted Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward. Colonel' Beddington will sail for New Zealand on February 3rd. LONDON TO SYDNEY. (Received January 31st, 9.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jantfbry 31. A party to survey a route for the proposed aviation service from London to Sydney has departed, using motorcycles.
