YeaterJay'e market at Hawarden was the best fat lamb eale held in North Canterbury thi3 6eaeoru The yarding of fate comprised 4270 lambs, 401 ewes, and 44 wethers, whilst the store pene contained 551 forward and store Jarabe, and 106 ewee and wethers, a total entry of 4927. The bulk of the fat lambs and ewes -were of excellent quality, and spirited competition between th© freezing buyers resulted in prices equal to Aldington quotations being obtained. One of the features of the sale wae a line of 534 fat lamba from Mrs M. F. Mecfarlane's Awapuni Eetate, Waikari, whioh eold at 32s 9d each. Another prime lot was 148 from tho Brookedale Eetate, -which made 32e 10d each. A small pen from the same estate topped the market at 3Se 4d.
