CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.
MIDSUMMER MEETING
The acceptances received for tho CrJiterbury Jockey Club's Midsummer Masting, to bo held at Riccarton on •Saturday, .ire not up to expectations, yt>t the number of hors&s left in the different events should provide some vory fine Tacing. In tho Midsummer Handicap, Kilmoon still stands his ground, and oven with the steadier of Sst, must be hard to beat. Adjutant Bst 71b will represent Sir George Clifford, and is entitled to respect, while Subterfuge has raced consistently of lato, and Tako Down, from the South may make things interesting. The Middle Park Plate has a field of six. Surveyor has , the best racing crodentfals, but Macduff is sure to run prominently. &Un Dance is credited with being above the average, so the race should be full of interest. In the Craven Plate, Koesian may be on© of those close ut> at the finish, while tho form of Tip Up on the West' Coast of late, should be, remembered.
