Marshal Foch has notified that it is his intention to occupy- the Strassburg sector on the right bank of tho Rhine, in Baden territory. The Ger.mans are greatly irritated. A GERMAN PROTEST. (Received January 29 th, 11 p.m.) PARIS, January 27. Herr Winterfeld has resigned the chairmanship of the Armistice Commission, as a protest against Marshal Fodh's occupation of Straesbmg. THE GERMAN MENACE. (Received January 30th, 1.30 a.m.) PARIS, Januaiy 27. M. Paul Deschanel, presiding at Sunday's demonstration, at the Sorbonne, said: —"So long as tho Germana have access to a route by which they can. invad© us and are able to accumulate means for aggression on this Bide of th© Rhine, the world will never know < peace."
