AKAROA
The monthly meeting of the Akaroa Countv Council was held at JJuvauchelle on Saturday, when there were present—Measrs J. K. Thacker (in the chair), J. D. Bruce J. Pettigrew, C. B. Tfiackor, T. Stewart,'and F. Williams.
Two tenders for dog collars were received. Consideration was held over until next meeting. Applications for liconees" were granted to Alf. Bead (5), iiempsUlk (1) and l.eonardi (11; and auctioneers' licenses to H. Mutson and Co. and tho Firmers' Co-op. Association.
The report on the recent epidemic forwarded to the Canterbury Hospital Board showed that there had been 306 c&scs in the count*.*, of which 1" tad proved fatal. In answer to the enquiry 01 the Hospital Board, the Council approved of the claim of £20 made icr Mrs H. J. Allen in respect to dmiiase dene to her house in Okain's when it was used a» an emergency ward. A request for support fiom tho Banks Peninsula Memorial fund Association was held over for consideration, pending enquiries beinjr made in each oistnct.
