The Rotterdam correspondent of th« u Dailv Chronicle" states that the German Government is dealing drastically with unemployment. Though agnculturo is endangered by the shortage of half a million workers in the provinces, hundreds of thousands aro idling in the towns. The Government is about to withdraw financial assistance to those refusing to work oxccpt ror good reasons. Thieves in Berlin are most daring. They shut off whole streets to enable their accomplices to plunder the shops. In one instance sailors, after loading a motor-lorry with valuable booty, seized two policemen who were «iltempting to arrest them and, a er handing them over to Government soldiers, drove off with their plunder. The Democrats in Germany polled 5,500,000 votes out of the bourgeoisie partv's. 15,000,000 poll, while tho Majority Socialists polled tho independent Socialists 2,000,000. A SPARTACIST OUTBREAK. Another Spartacist outbreak occurred in Berlin on Thursday night, leading to severo street fighting. Dr. Liebknocht and thirty-throo Spartacists wero buried in the Friedriclisfelde Cemetery. Tho city was filled with soldiers. There wero no disturbances, though many -workmen stopped work.
