FURTHER DRAFTS.
The transport Oxfordshire, with over 1100 soldiers aboard, comprising draft No. 207, is due at Auckland on February 2nd. Practically all the officers and men belong to the North Island. The transport Nestor has on board about 150 New Zealand soldiers, comprising Draft No. 209. Practically all of these men belong to the North Island. As it is not known yet whether the Nestor will come on to New Zealand from Australia or whether the men will be transhipped, the approximate date of the draft's arrival cannot yet bo given. Following are the names 'of the officers and tho Canterbury men aboard:— Reed, M. R., Capt., Auckland. Penrhys-Evans, H. T., Lieut., Tararu. Cox, A. 0., 16 Park, terrace. Upritchard, H. A., 20 Lytton street. Tho hospital ship Marama, with Draft No. 206 aboard, is duo to arrive at Lyttelton at 8 o'clock to-morrow morning. THE MALTA RELEASED. (press association telegbam.) I WELLINGTON, January 28. After the doctors had examined, the troopship Malta to-day, there was a conference ashore, and tho vessol was given a clearance. She will be' berthed at tho wharf to-morrow morning. STATEMENT BY. THE MINISTER. (rBESS association telegram.) WELLINGTON, January 28. Tho Minister of Public Health, in a statement to-day regarding tho troopship Malta, now in port, said: — "This morning Dr. Watt, iDistrict Health Officer for Wellington, and Dr. Kendall, Port Health Officer, visited the Malta, and made a thorough examination. They discovered one case only—that of a Lascar member of the crow, who showed a temperature, but as his oase did not indicate influenza in nny form, the Chief iiealth Officer reported to me that it was desirable that quarantine on the ship should be removed. This haa been done." Officers of the Defence Department went on board the ship this afternoon for the purpose of clearing the men, and the ship is expected to be berthed at midday to-morrow if no further complications have developed in the meantime. THE WILTSHIRE DUE ON FRIDAY. (PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 28. Baso Records advises that returning draft 210 (s.s. Wiltshire) will arrive at Wellington at noou on the 31st inst.
