Women clerks asked the Bermondsey (England) Food Control Committee tor a day's leave onco a month in order to do their shopping. Alderman Bulmer said that if they granted the request they would have tho town clerk, borough treasurer, and engineer, and their staffs asking for half a day off m which to buy their hats and boots. The committee declined the request.
