A trombone which reached the Y.M.C.A. music section in England recently had a history. It arrived from Sir Edward Elgar with a note which said h—"This trombone has clinging to it happy memories of my youthful musicmaking. I meant to keep it. But why should 1 keep it for sentiment when the 'boys' tan put it to use?" So some soldier was made happy (if his comrades were not!) by.playing on the trombone which was once used by the celebrated British composer. -
