Fifty churches liavo been closed, and , cli arch goers are heavily taxed, while all religious toaching is prohibited. An anti-clerieal and anti-religious newspaper has been established entitled the "Red Devil." WARSHIPS FOR LIBAU. COPENHAGEN. January 24. A British cruiser and three torpedo boats have left for Libau. According to telegrams from Libau. tho Bolshevists are nearly cleared out of Esthonia and Northern Livonia. It is reported that Trotsky lias been taken prisoner, and valuable booty secured. The Bolshevists at Riga are now threatened from the rear. The recent Bolshevist outrages in Courland include tho murder of several clergymen and leaders of tho Social Democrats in Mitau, the chief town of Courland. THE ROMANOFFS. (Received January 27th, 7.25 p.m.) LONDON, January 24. The Copenhagen correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" interviewed an official of the ex-Czar's court, who escaped from Russia. He states that the Czarina and her children are safe, and living in retirement in Russia. It is untrue that tho ex-Czar is alive. The Dowager Empress and other Royalties took refuge in tho Crimea.
