SHIPPING NOTES. The Ngakuta is expected to arrive at Lyttelton about, the end of this week, with a I part cargo of coal from Greymouth. The j Ngakuta will discharge part of her cargo at i Wellington, and will come to Lyttelton to 1 complete. The coastal steamer Putiki is to load general cargo' at Dunedin to-day for discharge at Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The Monowai is due ia port to-morrow from Auckland, via East Coast ports. She leaves Lyttelton to-morrow evening for Dunedin. The Wakatu was despatched from Lyttelton last evening on a voyage to Kaikoura And Wellington, with a cargo of general merchandise. She will return in due course to this' port. Having completed her loading of general commodities at Lyttelton, yesterday, the coastal steamer Orepuki was despatched for Greymouth, where she will load timber for Lyttelton. The Westport Coal Company's steamer Canopus left Westport on Sunday for Lyttelton, and will arrive in port to-day. The Canopus will unload here, and return to the West Coast. The movements of the Canterbury Shipping Company's fleet, from various causes, have been somewhat disorganised of late. The Storm and Calm were auo at Lyttelton yesterday, but they will not reach, this port until- to-morrow. Both vessels will bring cargo from the North. Island. The Storm is coming from Wanganui direct, and the Calm from the same port, via Wellington. The Breeze will probably arrive here to-morrow also. This vessel is bringing general cargo from Dunedin, via Timaru. The liner Suevic, with merchandise from London, via North Island ports, is now expected at Lyttelton about the. middle of this week. Upon completing here she will proceed to Dunedin. The Poheraa, which was due at Lyttelton ; on Saturday, is still bar-bound at Grey- ! mouth. She has on board a load of coal for this port.
