HENLEY REGATTA.

A meeting of the University and other ■owing clubs at London decided to revive ; !he Henley Regatta in July. In response to i request on behalf of overseas troops, it lY a 3 decided to include an Inchcape eight>ar race- for Dominion troops. Australia, Canada, and Now Zealand have agreed to alter. New Zealand won the chief events it the Thames Regatta in 1918. The men complained that tiieir | loldings were much too small, ana j hat it was impossible for them to ( aake a living .without going out to woi k ( or neighbouring farmers. One man laid he would not have given up a | rood position to take up a section it ne lad known that it would be too small o enable hihi to make a living. A ( :onsiderable amount of discussion j ook place regarding the Homebroolt j state, which is to be offered for sae ( r lease to returned soldiers shortly.. 111 the men present were of the opm- ] on that the property had been cut up nto too many sections, and tnat it £ rould be impossible for the successful pplicants to makfe a living ,without utside work. It was contended that man could not get along successfully nless he had sufficient land to seep team employed fairly constantly. It > understood that the men on the eeston settlement are asking tne wyrnment to increase the size of tneir actions. "We don't want to he soon-fed,'' declared one speaker. All e want is a fair chance to make a o of things."
