:r -* — TWO RESERVISTS CHARGED. A court-martiul sat in tho King Edward Barracks yesterday to licar charges against ' lAO reservists, Edward G. D. Blackburn and William J. Wild, of Tixnaru. Tho Court comprised Major A. E. Loach (president), Captain R. Macartney, and Lieut. D. Wood, with Captain H. G. Livingstone us prosecutor, and Lieut. A. G. ifacdonaU 113 : waiting member. i Blackburn was charged with - •having |to attend a place of rendezvous, King Edward Barracks, when ordered to do so by hi* commanding officer. The evidence of MajOT Conway went to show that, accused had beeu attested in November, 1917, and had been ordered to parade in March, 3918, but lud tailed to do so. Latei he had been instructed to report to the Group Office immediately,' but tho telegrams had not been delivered, as accuse - J'3 gates had been looked. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. ' Accused stated that h<> was ill in bed at the time, i'.nd could not pa ; rade. He- produced a. mcdicil certificate, but 83 it was dated January, 1019, the Court' pointed out that it was of little use. Accused was found guilty. Wild was charged with having absented himself without leavo from February, 1913, until ha surrendered to the polico in January, 1919. Accused, who pleaded ffuilfy, stated that he was a conecientioua objector. Both sentences will be promulgated later.
