TOWN PLANNING.
o DOMINION CONFERENCE TO BE HELD.
It was announced by the Hon. G. W. Russoll, Minister of Internal Affairs, on Saturday, that it has been decided to hold a town-planning conference in Wellington, from May 6th to 10th, the main Town Hall and Concert Hall having been secured in which to hold the sittings of the conference.
Mr S. Hurst ijeager, of Christchurch, has been appointed Honorary Organising Director, and will take charge of all arrangements. Ho has been given an office and a private secretary. The conference is to be representative of the whole Dominion. Invitations will be issued to members of both Houses of Parliament, to mayors, engineers and clerks of all the principal municipal bodies, to representatives from th o Architects, Engineers, and Surveyors' Institutes, to representatives of Trades and Labour Councils, and to representatives from women's organisations of all classes throughout the Dominion. \ r rangements will be made for a comprehensive exhibition of maps, plans and sketches bearing on the question 0 f town-planning in different countries.
