BECKENHAM SCHOOL.
4 On Saturday afternoon the ■ Becketiiiiim School Committee carried out a thorough inspection of tho Beckenhain School buildings and grounds. Mr Andrews, a member of tho Education Board, and Hi' A. C. Maxwell, headmaster, were also present. Gratification, was expressed ut the manner in which tho school had been thoroughly cleaned and fumigated during tho unavoidably long period since the school was last open. The buildings were found to be in perfect condition, ventilation and lighting being' all that ccrulrt bo desired. Mr McGuinness, formerly assistant master, who has been for rooro than two years on activo service, hps returned from the front. The school has reached a higher grade, and Mr McGuinness will re-join the staff as first assistant master. Arrangements are now completed with regard to the fitting up of a- eehool museum. During the past four years a large number of interesting specimens lu.vc boon collected, and these will be placed in the cabinets, forming tho nucleus of what is hoped will in time b? a very valuable aid to the educational work of the school. j
