DRIVERS' DISPUTE
(rr.KSS ASSOCIATION TELEGIiAH.) WELLINGTON, January 23. Considerable interest attaches to the sccond cocfcrenco in reference to the drivers' dispute, which opened in Wellington to-day. Those present represent Employers and Drivers' I,"nions from all over Zealand. The men are asking for substantial increases in wages tied much improved conditions of work. Tho first conference in November last proved abortive. Tho employers ofisred to increase v:a<*££, but were disinclined +o alter any of the existing conditions. The offer wns placed before individual unions, and was rojoctcd. Tho dispute was then referred to the Transoort Workers' Federation, at Tvhos3 ?u«'"cstion a second conference was convened. Tfo>" proceedings are being held in camera.
