A statement on behalf of the ex-King Manoel is published in tho "Daily Chronicle." It says that in view of the new'position and chaos in Portugal, caused by the assassination of President Paes, ho doos not expect his supporters to bq bound by the wish he expressed at the outbreak of the wax, to refrain from moving in his favour. Ho is nowise privy to the present movement, but regards himself as absolutely at the service of tho people, and if they call him he is prepared to go immediately. REVOLUTION GROWING. (Reuter's Telegrams.) (Received January 24th, 1.55 a.m.) LISBON, January 20. It is officially stated that the Monarchists hold Oporto, Braga, and Vizen. Martial law has been proclaimed. Warships have been sent to Oporto, which is strongly blockaded.
