LOCOMOTIVE MEN.
A MORE EVIDENCE OF UNREST. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 23. The locomotive engineers' and liremen's conference opens at Wellington on February sth to consider the .e----mands emanating from the branches for a more militant prosecution of the campaign to so.ruro improved wages m-l conditions. Delegates also -will discuss the proposals which the Minister has indicated he will be prepared to submit to the Association. It is stated that before meeting the Minister the conference will consider ilto machinery for giving effect to a strike. Any suggestions by the Minister for improving the locomotive men's wages will bo carefully considered, and will then be submitted to the members for a final decision.
