GRAVES OF ANZACS
(By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright.) (United Service.) (Received January 22nd, 10 p.m.) LONDON, January 19. Mr Peacock, special representati%'e of tho Sydney '"Sun" in the Mediterranean, telegraphs that he spent sevoral days at Anzac. and saw many remains, especially on Hill 60, which were never buried. Tho officers and men feel that these should be immediately gathered up anc! interred. Tho New Zealanders have already done much marking of isolated graves, following the scheme drawn up, and generally endorsed here. Mr Peacock says that the wholo battlefield of three or four thousand acres, which is valueless for production, should bo secured, and enclosed and consecrated, as an everlasting memorial. The tronches, hospital sites, and distinctive features, should be preserved and reconstructed, the cemeteries cleaned up, and uniform stones placed on each grave. The outlying graves should remain undisturbed. Exposed remains should be gathered within sectors, where regimental monuments should be erected, showing tho names of tho dead.
An Australian and New Zealand. Trust, he says, should ho created, charged -with the maintenance of the battlefield, and the appointment of pormanont caretakers, the Dominions sharing the cost.
