AIRMAN LANDS OX ROOF. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received January 22nd, 10.20 p.m.) PARIS, January 20. M. Vedrines effected a sonsational aeroplane landing on a roof thirty yards long, and u few feet wider than the spread of the aeroplano's wings, winning £1000. M. Vedrines wijl shortly commence a world tour, going round Africa, then across Arabia, India, and the East Indies, to Australia, thence to the Far East, and homeward, via North America. (Received January 23rd, 12.20 a.m.) PARIS, January 20. During the war,. M. Vedrines on seven occasions carried spies to enemy country, and three times returned in broad daylight to a pre-arranged spot and brought them back. He learnt German during the war. and cultivated a German appearanc by lettieg his beard grow.
