DEATH OF PRINCE JOHN.

' THE COURT IN MOURNING,

The Governor-General has received official information to the effect that owing to the death of his Royal Highness Prince John, his Majesty the King hiw commanded representatives of the Sovereign throughout the Empire to refrain from attending public functions until after January 2(3th.

It is also announced that the Courb trill go into mourning from January" 20th to February 19th, and into half-

mourning for a further period of four icen days.
