MINERS' FEDERATION.
NATIONALISATION DEMANDED. (By Cable.—Pre* Association.—Copyright.) (Australian &nd N.Z. Cable AMoeiiiioo.) ' LONDON, January 16. The Miners' Federation passed a resolution demanding that the' mines, railwayß, and Bhipping should be retained under State control. The conference endorsed the executive's demand for a 30 per cent, increase in wages. EFFECT OF CONCESSIONS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association-) (Received January 20th, 8.40 p.m.) ' LONDON, January 18. It is estimated that the concessions demanded by the miners' conference will increase the price of coal to £3 5» per ton.
