ZEALAND FAMILY Sand! Sand! Sand! Speaking of Hupirtobile. performance, here is an extract from J. L. Burton's story of his. record drive across-Aus-tralia in a Hupmobile :— " AftQTthis hill we had plenty more sand. Yes, • tons hi it; but over and up all of it the Hupp went lijce a scalded cat, till we came to Narlaby tank, and the end of the thirty miles sandy desert. By the way, it was 3.15 p.m. on our arrival at the Narlaby tank, thus covering the thirty odd miles of heavy sandhills in two hours M 8 twenty minutes, which, -to say the very least, H speaks very highly of the pulling powers of that 9 Hupniobile motor car. On the previous record ■ tliis same portion of the journey took hours and Hj hours." I This great trans-Australian trip proves again the pheno- ■ menal stamina and power of the Hupmobile. The total ■ distance from Fremantle to Sydney was 2,677 in^es °* deserts, washouts, boulders and sandhills. The Hup covered the distance in 7 days, 2 hours, 17 minutes, on an average of 15.7 miles to the gallon of benzine. No spares .were needed. | See a Hupmobile !It " won out "on the deserts it will I please you on City streets. 1 N.Z. Farmers Co-op. Assn.
