CASUALTIES.
James Dolan, farmer, Kyle, wio was found in an unconscious state on the Chertsey-Kyle road on Wednesday, and admitted to theAshburton County Hospital, lias regained consciousness, and is progressing favourably. Andrew Henderson, a Methven farmer, about 50 years of age, suffering from the aftermath of influenza and pneumonia, went to New Brighton on Thursday to stay with his brother near Herring Bay. On Saturday morning ifo got up iat about a quarter to four. A little later Jus brother went to look, for him, and found his trousers on the river bank, and marks showing that ho had walked into the water. Dragging operations were oonducted ' all day tsaturday and again yesterday, but without result.

A motor-car occupied by Vivian Cox of the. National Insurance Company 5 an<T Fancourt, a Main Body returned soldier, formerly employed at Messrs Sargood, Son, and Ewen's, while proceeding from Napier to Crownthorpe overturned at Harper's Corner. Fancourt was pinned underneath the car and killed. Cox escaped uninjured
