IRELAND.
CRITICAL TIMES AHEAD
(By Cable.—Fteu Ae*ociation.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Awociition.) LONDON,' January 14. The "Daily Telegrapn" Btates that among the Sinn Fein plans are the following:— (1) The summoning of a National Assembly in Dublin. (2) Compelling the repudiation of the annual payments for land purchased under the Wyndham Acts, using tho boycott against newcomers if the holders are evicted. (3) A national strike. (4) A national levy on trade and property, according to tax valuation, using tne boycott against defaulters. (5) Capture of the County Councils and Poor Law bodies which control the administration of £3,000,000. The success of the last scheme is almost certain, and its importance can scarcely bo over-eßtimated, as it gives control of a vast number of contracts, permitting patronage. The next few months will bo critical. The Sinn Fein must attempt something on a big scale, as the rank and file insist on the leaders showing results. SINN FEIN MEMBERS CONFER. (Australian and N.Z. Tho Sinn Foin faembers of tho Houso of Commons met at Dublin yesterday, discussed a National Assembly, and ap.pointod Mr de Valera, Mr Griffiths, and Count Plunket delegates to the Peace Conference.
