DR. G- E. 3JEAMER

The many friends of 3>r. and Mrs G. E D-amer will greatly regret to hear of" the death of the doctor which took place at his residence. Green lane, Auckland, this week 15r.'Deamer had a severe attack of interna during the vj mid had been • seriously ill 6pl 6 . Feathehston> aftemards 1902 till 1909> when 5 he went to Island Bay Wellington Failing health compelled him to cease work and after a few years' stay in Svdnev he retired to Auckland ra the earlv part of 1918. He is survived by a willow (who is a daughter of the iate Colonel Header, of Wellington) and two daughters, Mrs Albert Goldie (wellknown by her literary work as 'T>ulcie Deamer"), now in Amenca and Dorothea Deamer, who is Sister Mag- Anno of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Kensington, Sydney. The interment took place on Tuesday at Onehunga, the Rev. Father Doyle officiating. Mass was said at the Catholic Church.

Mr William Martin Heywood, son of Mr T B He-vwood, formerly secretary to the New Zealand Treasury, died suddenly in. Sydney recently. iDeceased, who was 52 years of age, was at one time connected with, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's branch in Wellington.-

The death' took place on Tuesday of Mr R. W. : Hall, an old resident of Palmerston North. The-deceased," who was tho youngest son of Mr Ceo. Hall, of Broad street, was at one time in partnership with his brother, the late Captain John E. Hall, in the Clarendon Hotel, and a few years back an enthusiastic member of the local Fire Brigade. He was also a prominent Forester and a member of Court Manawatu, Palmerston 'North. He was well known in the Woodville district, and with his late brother was one of the pioneers of the cheese making industry in that district.

Mr Thomas Black, one of the oldest business men of Dunedin, died yesterday morning, aged 74 years (telegraphs our correspondent).. The deceased! gentleman was president of the New Zealand Hardware Company from its earliest days, and retained the office of chairman of the board of directors till his death.
