■ BAND CONCEBT. The Lyttelton Marino Band, under - the conductorship of Mr Arthur Heath, will play the following programme on the Lyttelton Band Rotunda on Monday evening:—March, "Northumbrian" (W. Rimmer); waltz, "Lolita" (Lithgow); selection, "Poert and Peasant" (Suppe); intermezzo, "Dream Thoughts" (E. Moss); trombone speciality, "Slip to Success" (by request); cornet solo, "host Chord" (Sullivan); march. "Gippsland" (Lithgow); selection, 'Something Doing" (Pcther); march, "Brilliante" (Lithgow). GAEDEN PLOTS. Visitors to port ere not a little impressed' with the charming' little garden plote in'the vicinity of the railway station. Each 'plot has been laid out artistically, and at the present time displays a wedlth of blooms. Owing chiefly to the shortage of labour many of r tba gardens in the residential portion of the town have lost much' of their former neatness. Whilst some gardens show signs of careful attention others are noticeable by an excessive growth- of weeds., ' « .
