LONDON, January 13. It is considered that an airship mail service to by the summer of 1920 is a certainty. , H.M.A.S. BRISBANE. LONDON, January 13. H.M.A.S. Brisbane had arrived at Portsmouth from the Grand ' Fleet. She is to be refitted prior to returning to Australia. She entered the harbour amidst the sounding of sirens and whistles and cheers from the bluejackets. ADVERTISING AUSTRALIA. LONDON, January 13. The Commonwealth is erecting a large screen in front of Australia House, on which cinematograph views will he thrown in the afternoons, with the object of demonstrating to • English soldiers the possibilities of emigration to Australia, and promoting Anglo-Australian trade. - WORK RESUMED. NEW YORK, January 12. The marine strikers have resumed work pending a settlement of the strike by the Government. A ROWDY MEETING. ROME, January 13. Signor Bissolati, who recently resigned owing to Cabinet differences, attempted to make a speech at the Scala Milan, justifying Italy's re'nunciation. A huge crowd van present, and during two hours of Uproar and imprecations Bissolati was liardly heard. He said that there were some points which Italians placed beyond discussion, namely, Trentino, Goriziu, Trieste, and Istria, but the Treaty of London claimed for Italy regions the annexation of which would lead Italy into a policy contrary to her interests. it the Dodecanese were annexed Italy and Greece wonld remain separated, but if Italy renounced Dalmatia she should have Fiume. A Government Bil] has been drafted restoring the trade union customs and rules suspended during the war. Theso will be restored at the request of the trade union concerned, with the full force of Government authority. WIRELESS INVENTION. (Received January 16th, 8.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, January 12. Tho Navy Department announced that an underground and sub-sea wireless system, an American invention, had been put to practical use in tho Navy and Army during the war. The invention, hitherto practical only for receiving, can be developed for sending. The inventor has refused any remuneration. AMERICAN POLITICS. (Received January 16th, 8.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON. January 12. Mr T. W. Gregory, Attorney-General, resigned, in order to give his attention to private affaire.
