A proposal is to be made to the Auckland Education Board to _ _erect one large modern schoolhouse in Napier street, to replace the existing schoolhouse there, and another in Nelson street. The idea is to increase the Napier street grounds to four and a-half acres, sell the Nelson street property for about £6000, and ask the City Council to do some_ lilling-in, on condition that the grounds are available for the use of the public after school hours. It is estimated that if tho scheme is adopted there will be an annual saving in salaries of £900.
