A family reunion at Nottingham recently to celebrate the leave of Private Charles Horsley, Sherwood Foresters— one of the 45th Division who swam the Somme Canal -under heavy fire—ended in tragedy. A German officer's revolver was being exhibited, when it accidentally went off, killing a discharged soldier named George Wilson, of Newark, the sweetheart of Horsley'a sister.
