WHAT WILL FLIERS DO NOW WAR IS OVER ?
PARIS, November 23. What will become of aviators now that the fighting lias ended? Commercial aviation doubtless will be extended,, greatly, but it is a question whether it will present sufficient attraction to tho men who have taken up aviation for tho distinction to be won in air fighting. The Aero Club of France up to the present lias issued 1(5,OCO pilot licenses, and hundreds of military pilots have not taken out the Aero Club's license to which they are entitled. Enquiry among French aces show that the majority are too young to be worrying about the next phase of life, although some hope that civilian aviation; will offer satisfactory careers. Lieutenant Rene Fonck, the ace of aces, with seventy-five official victories, has not yet decided what he will do, but may" remain in the army., SubLieutenant Nungessor, with forty-fivo victories, has decided to quit the army. Lieutenant Lemaitre, after leading 135 bombing raids, will be in charge of an aerial transport. A young lieutenant,/barely of age, who lias fourteen victories, says: "All I lcnow is that I will not continue my lawstudies. " Sub-Lieutenant Bourd Jade, with twenty-eight successes, probably will have the least difficulty in returning to civilian./life. Ho is a priest, and will resun\e' his clerical duties.
