A cablegram was received this afternoon fro~n the head office, accepting the terms agreed -upon at the Sydney conference. It is further stated that tho first steamer for New Zealand will sail tomorrow. This is the Moeraki, which is advertised to leavo at noon, and for which passages are being booked. Tickets are now being issued for other steamers, which will loavo in duo course. Tho men hold a formal meeting tomorrow morning, after which the idlo vessels will bo manned. MEN'S DECISION NOT YET GIVEN. (Received January 16th, 1.30 a.m.) SYDNEY. January 10. To-morrow morning's meeting of seamen will finally decide whother the difficulty is to bo settled. The secretary of the Seamen's "Union anticipates tho acceptance of tho agreement, and the return of the crows to their vessels. The agreement now provides a fixed advance under given conditions in place of the proposed bonus, to which tho penmen took exception. Tlie Moeraki and Makura are advertised to sail for New Zealand, and tlio Atua for Fiji, to-morrow afternoon. STRAiNDED AUSTRALIANS IN WELLINGTON.

(press association telegram.) "WELLINGTON, January 15. Mr Walter J ago, chairman of the Stranded Australians Committee, has sont a cablo message to Mr R. BOrchard. M.H.R., of Sydney, stating that thero aro many Australians stranded in New Zealand, many in absolute financial distress. Womon and children with 110 resources aro depending on charity for food. Thero aro_ also harrowing cases of wivos and children in Australia, needing medical treatment, while tho husbands aro stranded bore, shut off from resources. Tho cablo messago adds: "Why will not tho Federal authorities reply to the New Zealand Government's cable with reference to: the non-performance of quarantine by a transport steamer avaiiablo_ to embark Australians? The position is acuto. J ' To-day tho Government received a reply from tho Australian authorities, that arrangements could be made for the landing of passongers and crew at the Quarantine station. Tho owners of tho vessel would have to pay all expanses in'connexion with tho quarantining. The Admiralty is practically the temporary owner of#tho vessel, and tho attitude of the Australian Government causes some surprise. STRANDED NEW ZEALANDERS. "OCEAN PICNIC" ON THE DURHAM. BRISBANE, January G. The strainer Durham, with about 40 moil and women passengers, 6tranded New Zealandors, on the way home, arrived at. Brisbane this afternoon from Sydney. The voyage so far lins been something in the nature of an ocean picnic, tho passongers sleeping in hammocks or on the floor, with the exception of the ladies, wlio are accommodated in the hospital quarters. The passengers wait on themsolves, and do their own washing up in turn. Tho food aboard is plentiful, and threecourse meals are being served, but as one of the passengers humorously re l marked: "The meals may bo reduced to one. course before the end of the voyage, in ordor to reduce the number of plates to be washed up."
