« SALVATION ARMY. The anniversary services of the Young 1 Peoples Corps of the Linwood branch of the Salvation Army were commenced on Sunday last, and will he concluded tliis evening. Adjutant,Jtimnier was in charge during the day. Speeches were delivered by Y.P.S.M. Taylor and other workers among the children. The singing of the company under Brother J. Mathieson and recitations by the j Sistors Freeman brightened the services. A dedication 6ervir e was conducted by Commandant Lord in the afternoon. LABOUR REPRESENTATION COMSftTTEI?. Tie ordinary meeting of the Labour Representation Committee was held at the Trades Hall on Saturday evening when there was an attendance of thirty-three delegates, the chair being occupied by Mr Butterfield, the president. Letters were received from the Printers, Machinists, and Bookbinders Union, the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, the Canterbury Branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, and the Christ-pTini-ch Furniture Trade, LetidJiTht. Bftttan, and Wireworkera? Union, intimating thnt each of those bodies had decided to affiliate with the. L.R.C. The business of the evening consisted mainly-in making arrangements for organising for the coming municipal elections. Committees were set up to deal with that matter and also for the purpcio of arranging for the formation of branches of the Labour Party. ST. ALBANS SCHOOL COMMITEE. At the monthly meeting of tho St. Albans School Committee there were present—Mersrs F. Cole (chairman), J. B. Strutters, J. McFarlane, T. P. Moore, E. H. Andrews, C. E. Green, and P. S. Lucas. The chairman reported that an endeavour was being made to have aingJo adjustable desks installed in the new school. The committee had inspected the grounds since the lnflt moetin™ and decided to have considerable asphalting done. It was found that nothing could bo done with the regrading of the ground until the new school was completed. Messrs Green and Struthera were reappointed a visiting committee. It was decided to leave the matter of the school excursion iu the hands of the committee. Mr Moore consented to draw up a scheme for the improvement of tho school gardens. <
