The Connell family of Opunake, late of Waverley, have been hard hit ot laie. One member was recentjy killed m action, whilst another died of sickness at the front, and last week a third brother (Mr Charles Connell) succumbed in tho Now Plymouth Hospital to an attack of cerebro-spinal meningitis. His lour-year-old son passed away a tew flays previously. Mrs Connell, tho widow, and another child are at present laid up with influenza.
