—: —* PERSONAL. A social evening was tendered to Mr E. Green, president of the Lyttelton Club,- -on tho occasion of lA3 approaching marriage. A very pleasant evening, waa. spent, musical items being contributed by 'membera of the club, and a number of toasts wcro honoured. LYTTELTON MARINE BAND. Tho Lyttelton Marine Band held its annual meeting last evening, Mr_F. W. Anderson, president, being in tb4> chair. Matters in nexion with, the band's status under the military system (the band being, attached to fchfr Coastal Defence Forces) were dtscusscJ. The following officers were dent, F. W. Anderson; vice-presidents, Messrs Grigsby, Price, J. H. Colline, D. Wareham, P. Cennichael, V. li. A. Stringer, E. H. Henderson, T. n. Baker, I. Cowliahaw, and W. Brown; secretary, Mr Lu Wendelborn; treasurer, Mr H. Harbott; bandmaster, Mr F. Huaton; sergeants, Messrs L. Wendelborn and E. Sullivan; corporal, Mr G. Huaton; lance-corporal and custodian, Mr F. Childs; auditors, Messrs F. W. Anderson and J. Loader. Colonel C. J. Cooper, who was amongst thoeo present, gavo a brief address, in which he complimented, the band on the enthusiastic spirit whioh existed in the organisation; also upon its em art appearance when on parade, aid the progress being made.
