The policy of the Government in making tlie profeefcion so unattractiv 0 that one out of ovory three teachers is uncertificated waa unanimously condemned, and the opinion was strongly expressed that until tho educational service of tlie Dominion offered conHitiond of pay and promotion comparable with the economic valuo and social standing the profession demands, tho prese-nt deplorable Etate of inefficiency will continue. Members expressed a generous appreciation of tho work done by tho executivo during the year, and the three chief officers wero re-elected. The following will hold office for the ensuing year: — President, Mr J. C. Euros, M.A. (Wellington) ; vice-president from the North Island, Mr A. J. Shepherd (Auckland); -vice-president from the South Island, Mr H. F. Penlington (North Canterbury); hon. secretary, Mr B. T. Blake, M.A. (Wellington); hon. treasurer. Mi G. IJ.
