Tho "Southland Times" eaya:—Some doubt exists in tile Eastern District as to tho dates of the Gore Racing Club's Summer Meeting and the annual gathering of the Goro Trotting Club. When it was understood that the Gore R.C.'s Meeting would only extend over one day the Core Trotting Club authorities contemplated racing on tlie day following. The Gore R.C. have now been asked by headquarters to prepare a programme for a two; days' fixture, for use in tne event of a curtailed day being restored, and this move has left the Trotting Club people in a quandary as to vhe best steps to take under the circumstances. The Gore T.C. have been doubly unfortunate during the current season, their Boxing Day date having been lost owing to the influenza epidemic, and now a state of further uncertainty besets them.
