Langley, president of the Lyttelton Union, in opening tlio proceedings, said that it afforded him much pleasure to welcome to tho port delegates from nearly all tho affiliated Watersido Workers' Unibns in Kew Zealand. He was pleased that among their guests was the Mayor of Lvttelton, and he hoped that tjio present gathering would- help to strengthen the good fellowship which existed among the waterside fraternity. About 200 watersiders and firemen were present. The following toasts were honoured: —"Industrial Progress,' "Success to Our Agreement," "Education," "The Federation," and "Industrial Unity."
