RAILWAY EMPLOYEES' BENEFIT SOCIETY.
ANNUAL MEETING. At the forty-first animal meeting of tha Christchurch Kailway Employees' Sick Bensfit Society, held in tho Oddfellows' Hall, Selwyn street, the president, Mr McKay, occupied tho chair, and there was a fair number of members present. Tho annual report stated that the Society had not mado much progress during tho year, but it had given assistance to a large number of its members, which had justified its existence. . ' The balanco-sheet showed receipts £538 7s 7d, and tho expenditure £490 14a 3d, leaving a credit balance of £37 13s 4d. Starting the year with 239 finanoial members, the Society finished the year with 191, showing a loss of 48, who had been transferred or left the service. The report and were adopted. During the evening l , Mr A. W. McKay vu presented with the Society's medallion, for his oast eerviccs. Officers were elected ae follows:—President* Mr P. Stevens; vice-president, Mr J« Op mandy; secretary, Mr 0. W. Kirk; treasurer, Mr C. H. Broome; auditors, 1 Messrs B. B. Hean and L. H. Grammer; provisional-audi-tor, Mr W. Turner; 'trustees, Measta 0. Yemm and W. H. Jenkins; committee, Messrs W. Cameron, R. Robinson, G. Colville, J. Bland, O. Cross, T. Emmorson, G. Haxell, H. Hessoy, W. Mitchell, G. BoUe, J. Vartha, J. McGeorge; sick stewarta, Messrs Cameron, Bland, Crofiß, liaxell, Mitchell, Vartha* McGeorge.
