HOME FROM THE WAR.
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE FBESS." Sir, —If wo are only getting back a "few oddments from the hospitals," etc., just now, then I Egree with "North Canterbury" that it would bo better to wait till, say, March, and give a big welcome home to the big drart of long service men. Those who arrive in the meantime can bo invited to roll up and join the returning men and receivo their welcome, too, then.
"\Ve should havo such a demonstration of our appreciation of services rendered that will last in memory for all time. What has the Mayor got to say about triumphal arches, "banners waving, trumpets sounding," and beflagging the city with our flags and those ot our Allies 'i I hope Mr HoUand will not forget the returning boys in tho maze of all his | other duties, and will at onco get together a meeting of all those who , view what is due_our soldier boys in tho \ same way as "North Canterbury'' and yours, etc., CHIUSTCHUBCH. January 11th.
