Hupmobile I CAR OF ITHE NEW ZEALAND FAMILY Sand! Sand! Sand! .■A . . j Speaking o£ Hupmobile performance, here is an extract from J. L. Burton's story of his record drive across Australia in a Hupmobile:— 1 " After this hill we had plenty more sand. Yes, tons of it; but over afid up all of it the Hupp went like a scalded cat, titLwe came to Nariaby > tank, and the end of the thirty miles of sandy desert. By the way, it was 3.15 p.m. on our arrival at the Nariaby tank, thus covering the I thirty odd miles of heavy sandhills in two hours 1 twenty minutes, which, to say the very least, I speaks very highly of the pulling powers of that H Hupmobile motor car. On the previous record H this same portion of the journey took hours and H This great trans-Australian trip proves again the pbeno- M menal stamina and power of the Hupmobile. The total . H distance from Fremantle to Sydney was 2,677 mfleS'Of ' deserts, washouts, boulders and sandhills. The Hup covered the distance in 7 days, 2 hours, 17 minutes, on an average of 15.7 miles to the gallon of benzine. _ No spares were needed. See a Hupmobile!
