NEW BRIGHTON GALA.

A highly attractive programme has been arranged for the .Now Brighton Gala, which is to be held to-day, and which, given fine weather, should prove this year as successful as its predecessors. As has been the custom during the past two or three years, the total net proceeds will be devoted to patriotic purposes. The attractions includo sports for the children, sand designs competitions, bran dip, hoop-la, aquatic events, and numerous side-shows. "The Mysterious Mr X." will be another special feature, and much fun is promised those who endeavour to discover his identity. There will also be juvenile dancing competitions, which will be held on a specially-erected stage on the foreshore. There will be competitions also for children's carts, go-carts, and perambulators. A special and frequent tramway service will be run in connexion with the gala.
