A resolution from the Napier Borough Council, asking the support of the Council in requesting the • Government to take steps to appoint ft Royal Commission enquire and take evidence as to how the influenza epidemio was dealt with, waa not endorsed. A letter from the Hawera Borough Council, asked the co-operation of the Council in requesting the Government to arrange that the administration of the Health Department be placed on such a basis that it would command the respect and confidence of the people of the Dominion, and auggeeting that a health officer should be appointed for each of. the provincial districts, and that such jfficer should be » medical man. —The letter was "received." The financial statement 6howed a debit balance of f!sld X4s. It was decided to vote to the County Council for the suppression of small buds. It was decided to re-open the baths immediately, and that a caretaker be appointed for the remainder of the eeaeon. It was agreed, as a slight recognition of the good work done by the Boy Scouts during the influenza epidemic, to forward a letter of appreciation to -the Central Executive, and to vote £5 towards entertaining the boye in Victoria Park.
