DOMINION TOURNAMENT. (PRESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGHAU.) AUCKLAND, January 10. | Ths Dominion Bowling' Tournament was continued. to-day, whan the Pairs Championship match was commenced. There are 261 competitors in this championship, comprising 132 pairs, and including some of the strongest combinations in Now Zealand. The plAycrs woto split into 22 sections, and only three rounds were completed. The remaining two rounds will ho completed to-morrow, and in. the afternoon a start will be mad© -with tho tho inter-sectional play. The full rinks championship matches will l>e commenced,on Monday. * ' PLAY OF CANTERBURY MEN. (SPKCIAi TO "THS TRES3.") AUCKLAND, January 10. In tho pairs' competition at the Dominion tournament, sectional play, which finished on Thursday, Canterbury did fairly well. Probably if tho weather had been moro propitious and without rain, and tho greens drier, better play would have resulted. Tho outstanding Canterbury man waa Woolf (United Club). Ho won Section B with four wins and no louses, and in the sub-section play had hard luck; suffering two losses which, following tho two-life system, put him out of the competition. _ He played great games. In on© against Spiller, of Greymouth his final loss —he finished one down, Spiller winning on the last bowl of tho last head. Other Canterbury players wero not no successful, nono reaching tho inter-seotional round. In section play they fared aa und6l'~" - SECTION A.

For tho singles Maxwell Walker (Poneonby) is well ahead. Tho pairs match commences to-day. Canterbury is •well represented.
